Lot 452. Henry Frederick Boyle. Victoria & Australia 1871-1888. Excellent sepia cabinet card cameo photograph of Boyle, head and shoulders, wearing white shirt and cricket tie. Very nicely signed in black ink by Boyle to lower border of image. London Stereoscopic Co, London. A very rare and sought after signed card of this early Australia Test player.

Lot 491. William Gilbert Grace. Gloucestershire & England 1865-1908. John Wisden & Co Crawford 'The Exceller' cricket bat used by W.G. Grace in the 1912 cricket season whilst playing for Eltham and in other representative matches. The bat is signed to the shoulder of the bat by Grace, some fading to the signature but still quite legible. The bat was offered by Grace's widow in aid of the Red Cross (war fund) in 1916. The bat is sold with complete and extensive provenance including letter from Agnes Grace, a letter from W.G. Grace and various photographs and ephemera.

Lot 624. 'The Aboriginals' c1868. Original Victorian brass metal embossed belt buckle, depicting an Aboriginal cricketer with a bat over his shoulder to which his cricket boots are hanging. A cricket tent with flag flying to background with floral decorative border and to lower border on raised bar the inscription 'The Aboriginals'. A rare item from this very early tour by the Aboriginal team found in a garden in Wiltshire.

Lot 571. 'Record of Lord Hawke's Cricket Team in India 1892-93. Published by Redin & Co, 16 Trinity Street, Cambridge. [c1893?]. Very rare 28pp post tour booklet with frontispiece team portrait of the touring party, lacking front wrapper. A brown leather photograph album accompanies the booklet with title impressed into the leather in gilt 'India 1892-3' and contains seventeen sepia photographs taken on the tour, each mounted to the right hand side of the gilt edges card pages with handwritten titles to the facing page. The photograph album in good condition, although lacking album spine paper and becoming disbound. A very scarce booklet and photograph album believed to have been printed for members of the touring party only. Formerly the property of Henry Fitzherbert Wright (Eton & Derbyshire 1904-05) a member of the touring party to India and being sold by direct descent by the family.
