Cricket content to back 'Kent did'nt have a bit of mercy with Sussex. Without Fry and Ranji they cannot be expected to be formidable'. Australian tour of South Africa 1935/36. Rare real photograph postcard depicting Stan McCabe and Bill O'Reilly on the deck of the Ship S.S. Ulysses, the ship that took the touring party from Australia to South Africa, in November 1935. O'Reilly wearing touring blazer. Postally unused. Unusual. G

Sold with a Victorian greetings card with colour cricketing scene to front. Poems to front and verso 'Eleven will sometimes make a Score....'. Some adhesive marks to verso of greetings card, odd faults otherwise in good condition

Selection including Mono real photograph 'Discbat Cricket' advertising postcard showing Lindwall, Smith, Brown, Morris and Robertson playing the game, trimmed real photograph postcard of the 1948 Australian team (Bridge House) and four large photo-cards of Arthur Morris, Bill Brown, S.M. Brown and L. Gray. The latter two with faded signatures. The photo-cards measure 5.5"x7.5". Odd faults otherwise in good condition

England v Australia 1905. Original mono postcard showing the two rival Captains, Jackson and Darling, returning to the pavilion after the toss at Trent Bridge 1905. This was the first Test Match of the 1905 season. Series unknown. Sold with a Star series mono postcard of R.H. Spooner of Lancashire. G

Sold with six excellent late Victorian colour chromolitho cut out pictures (scraps) of a cricket scenes c1900. Approx 3.5" tall with title to lower border, 'An Unexpected Rise', 'Play', 'Played Sir', Just Taken His Gloves Off', 'Bowled Indeed' and 'Oh!'. All different. Good condition

Signed cricket postcards. Selection of nine colour cricket cards, mainly showing Test match grounds. All individually signed by a Test cricketer, signatures are Alec Bedser (2), Yardley, Ray Lindwall, Wyatt, Hutton & D'Oliveira (to one card), Laker, Keith Miller and Peter May. Two cards, Bedser and Yardley, have handwritten comments by the players of favourite Test matches, teams etc. G

Don Bradman. Collection of ten identical mono postcards of the Australian touring team to England 1930 by E.T.W. Dennis of Scarborough. Each signed by a Test match player with handwritten personal recollections/thoughts on Don Bradman as a player. The players are Gubby Allen, Len Hutton, Bill Edrich, Norman Yardley, Freddie Brown, Les Ames, Jim Laker, Bill Bowes and Johnny Wardle. The other card written by Jim Swanton. Some interesting comments/ recollections. VG
