J.B. Hobbs, Surrey and England. 'Farewell Dinner to J.B. Hobbs. To commemorate his retirement from County Cricket' The Dorchester Hotel, London, 17th July 1935. Arranged by 'The Star' newspaper. Large official menu, with original decorative covers, with tribute by Neville Cardus, Toasts, table plan, after Dinner entertainment, guest list and two photographs, one of the 'Hobbs Gates' at The Oval, the other one of Hobbs, head and shoulders. The menu measures 8.5"x11.5". Inscription to inside page 'To Jack, in memory of "Black"-Heath. Uncle Nick'. Some light marks to covers otherwise in good/very good condition

Lot 2:
All-England XI v Slough & District XV 1927. Original ticket for the Charity match played at Slough on the 28th September 1927. Sold with postcard advising a Meeting of Secretaries for the Oxford & District Cricket League to arrange fixtures. Meeting to be held on 14th March 1899 and a small menu for a Dinner & Dance to be held by Napier Cricket Club on the 3rd March 1945

Lot 3:
Rochdale Cricket Club 1874. Early Members Admission Ticket for the 1874 season. The folding card lists all matches for 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI's with detailsof Officers of the club. Includes a fixture for the 25th-27th June, '22 of Rochdale v All England XI'. Sold with similar card for The Union Cricket Club (Rochdale) for 1876. Both in good condition

'Royal Visit Luncheon'. Large official brochure for the County Carnival Cricket Association Luncheon held in Adelaide on the 10th March 1954. Decorative covers with ribbon tie and Toast List to inner pages. The President of the County Carnival Cricket Association, Victor Richardson received an O.B.E. from the Queen on this occasion. G

'Cambridge University Cricket Club. Arrangements and Matches for 1888'. Four page printed leaflet with details of matches, engagement (for a shilling) of professional bowlers for net practise etc. The University played the Australians at Leyton, Sussex at Brighton, Surrey at the Oval etc. Folds otherwise in good condition. Rare

'Records of a Voyage'. Set of five different 'Orient Line' menus for meals on the 'S.S. Orontes'. Each menu with colour lithograph of a famous London landmark. The menus housed in original folder with title to front. This was the ship that carried the Australian 1938 touring team to England. VG
